₱1.1M Prize Pool Up for Grabs at Vibes Asian Championship During YGG Play Summit 2025

Crypto gaming guild protocol Yield Guild Games (YGG) announced that the upcoming Vibes Asian Championship will offer a total prize pool of ₱1.1 million, or exactly $20,000, when it takes place at the YGG Play Summit in Manila on November 21 to 22, 2025.

Open to the public, with registration capped at 128 participants, YGG noted in a press release sent to BitPinas that the tournament, developed in partnership with Orange Cap Games, aims to attract both new and seasoned players.

The tournament will feature Vibes, a digital and physical trading card game (TCG) based on the popular Pudgy Penguins brand. 

The upcoming event is also expected to bring some of the world’s top players and major tournaments to the Philippines, according to Mike Ovecka, the head of YGG Esports and former Hearthstone esports lead at Blizzard Entertainment.

The competition will follow a Swiss +1 format, with only the top eight players advancing to the single-elimination finals. However, players who rank within the top 32 will receive cash prizes. 

The event will be officiated by Sashi Balakrishnan, a Level 3 Magic: The Gathering Judge from Malaysia, ensuring fair and professional gameplay.

To foster inclusivity, the tournament will allow up to 12 proxy cards per deck, enabling participants to compete without needing access to rare or expensive cards.

Pre-Championship Events

Ahead of the championship, YGG Pilipinas, the protocol’s local community, is currently hosting Learn-to-Play sessions and community tournaments across Manila and nearby cities to introduce newcomers to the game. 

At the sessions, participants will receive guided instruction from YGG Metaversity Marshals, along with starter decks for hands-on practice.

Weekly Tournaments:

• October 25: Trics Circle of Hobbies, Parañaque
• November 8 and 15: Trics Circle of Hobbies, Parañaque
• November 9 and 19: One Feast Café + Hobby Space, Cabanatuan City

Interested players may register through the official form. But the organizers stressed that minors will be required to submit parental consent to join the competition.

What is Vibes TCG?

Vibes TCG is a trading card game that combines strategic gameplay with the Pudgy Penguins brand. 

Available in both digital and physical formats, its first set, “Enter the Huddle,” was released in December 2024.

The game allows players to form “huddles” composed of penguin characters, action cards, and relics to battle opponents. It is designed to be accessible to beginners while offering the “strategic complexity” of established titles like “Magic: The Gathering” and “Lorcana.”

The game is available for download on vibes.game and through the Epic Games Store.

What is the YGG Play Summit?

The YGG Play Summit 2025 is a “player-focused” web3 gaming event, set to take place from November 18 to 22, 2025, at SMX Aura in Bonifacio Global City, Manila. 

Organized by YGG, the summit aims to transform Manila into a “City of Play,” a cyberpunk-inspired hub celebrating the convergence of gaming, technology, and digital culture.

The multi-day event will feature themed districts for players, developers, and investors, including esports tournaments, workshops, game demos, and career opportunities, according to the crypto gaming guild protocol. Highlights include The Player District, Degen District, Skill District, and The Arena.

The summit will also host the return of the GAM3 Awards by GAM3S.GG, honoring the best Web3 games and creators worldwide.
